Owner and Lead Tour Guide
Bob Goldsmith started Detroit Tour Connections and began giving walking tours of the Downtown Detroit area nearly 20 years ago.
Bob was born in Detroit (south of 6 mile) but after a few years his family moved to Southfield (north of 10 mile), where he graduated from Southfield High School (class of 1980).
He went on to attend and graduate from The University of Michigan (undergraduate school) and then, The University of Michigan Law School.
After a few years living in the suburbs and practicing law mainly in Oakland County, Bob moved his residence and his law practice to downtown Detroit in 2003, and has remained in the area ever since.
Bob Goldsmith is a big advocate for the Downtown Detroit area and a strong supporter of the revival and revitalization of Detroit. He does his part by showing off the sights and sharing his knowledge with anyone willing to walk and listen.
Bob has also been booked as a guest speaker by groups large and small, and offers a video tour for groups who want to learn about the city without walking the area.
He is also fairly close to completing a book about some of the great architecture in Detroit.
When he is not giving tours, or attending ballgames or concerts, or visiting Detroit Beer Company Robert Goldsmith - Attorney at Law, still practices law downtown attorneybobgoldsmith.com
He enjoys his time as "Bob the Lawyer", but prefers spending more time as "Bob the Tour Guide"
Other Tour Guides
Bob still gives most of the tours for Detroit Tour Connections himself, but when he is not available tours might be led by Mike, or Carlos or Jim, or Kathy and or Jenny.
